Doubt
Like soldiers in defeat,
Who kick their feet out to the sky,
In the summer heat
We wonder, why?
How did all of this happen,
In such a short time?
It was just last week,
We rose with a clear purpose
As dawn lit the street
New dreams, with new lights,
Paving and painting their sight
With a righteous might.
Something in the night,
Sounded in our deepest parts,
And settled as fright.
Everything masked gray.
Nothing could get through to us,
No matter the say?
Now when the trees bloom,
I take pictures to my heart,
Where I hold no room.
Whispers fill all space,
Grasping tightly to us with
No end in place.
Silence is our scream,
Of broken needs, wilted dreams,
All now common scene.
When will sight return?
Soothing and controlling the
Open space that burns.

Winter Smile
Down on the silver screen
Life lives up to what it seems.
It trips you up, deeper down,
To the ground,
But you don’t ever turn around.
Down, down, down
I see your vacant eyes,
A wanted, love disguise,
But as hard as you try,
I can see the lie.
Don’t hold me tight.
I’ll be alright.
I’ll be alright
I’ll be alright
Another night
I walk a winter mile
Steep in snow, all the while
I watch the heat.
No backseat, darling.
No drive down the avenue
Know each step’s for me and you,
Know each step, through and through.
I see your vacant eyes,
A wanted, love disguise,
But as hard as you try,
I can see the lie.
Don’t hold me tight.
I’ll be alright.
I’ll be alright
I’ll be alright
Another night
I walk a lonely mile,
Scarce is there a trusting smile.
Footprints are blue and white,
But all they see is red in sight,
It’s all mine.
Six-figure line.
Can’t take this any more,
Take me down below the floor.
Hell to heat will be so sweet,

Literature
Taco Culture
It was Taco Bell,
Where my tragedy took place
Of love and farewell.
Where do I begin?
I pluck a single corn shell,
and hold a slight grin.
It starts with the meat,
Whole, hardy, hot to the touch.
A Mexican treat.
It folds in the gold
Like a fresh, earthen layer.
I’m already sold.
In come jagged greens,
Lettuce like a dense grass bed.
A fresh evergreen.
Then, I drape on cheese,
White chain mail laid to the ground,
So proud and so pleased.
Hot, auburn, and red,
Salsa rain streams from the sky,
Words of awe unsaid.
Light of my smile's gleam
Traced over it like sun on
A Cardinal tree.
Now, I feel the heat
With food near my face, I run
And I take my seat
I begin to eat.
Then, I hear golden shell shards
Clatter to my feet.
I cradle the heap,
But with so much glory gone,
It feels incomplete.
What did I do wrong?
I saw my hands, realized
I was just too strong
With great power, comes
Great responsibility
In life’s lunch hour runs.
Taco, doomed at start,
Seeping between my fingers.
O

I'm a teen that loves to draw, paint (w/ oils), and write short stories!

I've been drawing since I was little. My neighbor and I used to go down to my playhouse and draw pokemon from the cards you could collect, and that's how I got started.
I'm best at drawing what I can see, whether it's a picture or a still life. My love for art simmered down for a while, but was brought back to life by the joy of my 8th grade art teacher (Thanks Mrs. V!), and I owe it to her and my other art teachers for helping me to get to where I am today :)

Just like every other kid out there, I loved to write little stories and staple booklets together when I was a kid, and the love for it never really left me, or was reinvigorated by my previous Language Arts Teacher (Thanks Mrs. D!).

Now, I'm in this funny time in my life where my art teacher, who taught me all I know about painting, is leaving. I'm going to have to motivate myself to paint, which is new for me, and I'm going to have to push myself out of my comfort zone to do that, so this is a funny time I'm at right now in my life.

I was hoping that through Deviantart I'd get exposed to new forms of art and to be with others who have the same artistic interests as I. I also use the website as insurance in case I ever lose everything, just by some accident. I have on here not just the stuff that "looks cool" that I've done recently, but I also have really old stuff, even going back to the pokemon, because that way, when I scroll through my gallery, I can see the real changes I've gone through, the new things I've seen as a result of the experiences and people I've had in my life.
